Note: The catch is that only the Welcab models are eligible for import under the current ruling. This means they must have the factory removable wheelchair, side lift-up seat or passenger lift-up seat.
However, those models with the front lift up seat can be used just like a normal vehicle. With only the base of the seat being slightly larger than normal to house the electric mechanism, it is hardly noticeable.
Wondering what they cost ?
With prices ranging between about 3.5 and 7 million yen at auction depending mostly on spec level, this translates to a price range of $58,000 to $120,000 complied, at our current exchange rate (80 Yen to the dollar).
Obviously prices will fall considerably over time as depreciation kicks in.
