Nissan X-Trail Hybrid Import Information for Australia
The 2015 to 2021 Nissan X-Trail hybrid (HT32 / HNT32) is eligible for import to Australia from Japan as it was not sold new here by Nissan.
HT32 designates 2WD and HNT32 is 4WD. All are 2.0L.
However, please note we do not source the X-Trail hybrid as it has known design faults with both the CVT transmission and starter motor which develop over time.

Contact us for current availability and pricing if you would like to import a car to Australia.
Every vehicle of interest to our clients is carefully inspected in person at auction, with more pictures provided along with market pricing guidance to help set the budget.
We assist with the entire process from choosing the best example to shipping it to Australia.
We specialise in direct car import from Japan and have been sourcing vehicles to order for private Australian buyers for over 25 years.
Every vehicle is hand-picked and we only source the very best.
We make car import easy with physical inspections of vehicles by experienced staff at over 30 auctions every week in the Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka, Kobe, and Kyushu / Fukuoka regions.
We start by focusing only on vehicles with the highest auction grades. But there is a LOT more involved than just basic auction grading !
Auction reports are often not reliable – we inspect every vehicle of interest in person to ensure it is up to our standard and has the options and features you want.
Most people (even Japanese export agents) do not realise that a significant % of vehicles in Japan are bought and sold by Japanese dealers for a quick profit between different auctions. If you are not aware of this you will almost certainly pay more than you needed to for exactly the same car.
Our experience with this situation alone will often save you more than the cost of our service fee.
Our import agent service includes a pre-check for past auction records using JCHC, at no cost to you. This allows us to rule out:
-
Cars recently auctioned and moved to a different auction for quick resale
-
Graded R (accident repair) cars changed to higher grades
-
Cars that have passed in unsold multiple times indicating a problem with the condition and/or price.

Geoff,
My Caldina has arrived in great condition with no transport damage so good job by all involved. I spent most of yesterday afternoon looking over and playing with everything in the car. It’s a great car and has lots of high end after market goodies. Thanks for the assistance in buying this car it has been a good experience so far and should be for the rest of the time I own it. I will send thru some updated pics when I’ve given it a bath.
I just wanted to touch base again and let you know the Caldina I bought is terrific and that the compliance went very well and the guys there were very helpful. The car is very smooth and quiet with plenty of grunt for a 2.0L all wheel drive. I average between 500km to 550km on the highway and approximately 400km to 450km around town (that could have a lot to do with my driving style).
Thanks for all your help and knowledge with importing my car I am very happy with how smoothly everything went and am already considering importing my next car when the time comes.
Cheers
Shane
