After plunging to the mid 75 Yen to the dollar level in recent months, the Aussie dollar has finally lifted back above the 80 Yen to the dollar psychological barrier.
Whether it continues to improve for us or drops back again remains to be seen. From an importer’s perspective we hope that it keeps climbing as any increase makes it cheaper to import a car from Japan. For example each 1 Yen change on a car that costs $20,000 complied means $200 difference either way, and $300 on a $30,000 car.
Hope you’ve been doing well. We’ve been really enjoying the Leaf since it arrived just before Christmas. My wife actually enjoys driving again (even city driving of all things) and lots of friends and family have been very interested in our little Leaf.
