COLLECTOR CAR
This 1993 R32 GTR with NISMO Fine Spec engine 2009 and only 55,000 km was inspected for a client at USS Osaka auction and sold on 10 June 2016.
Price withheld at client request.
The NISMO Fine Spec engine was a special limited production run of 70 units offered by NISMO in 2009 at a cost of 1,375,000 yen (approx. $17,400 AUD at 79 Yen to the dollar, plus fitting).
This was the culmination of all Nissan’s technical improvements on the RB26 up to that time. Upgrades of the Fine Spec RB26DETT engine over the standard RB26DETT engine included:
- N1 Cylinder Block
- N1 / Nur Spec. Pistons
- N1 Piston Rings (Low Friction)
- Nur Spec. Connecting Rods
- Nismo Reinforced Connecting Rod Bearings (F112 Metal Alloy Material & New Overlay Coating)
- Nimo Reinforced Main Bearings (F112 Metal Alloy Material & New Overlay Coating)
- Nissan OEM Camshafts
- N1 Water Pump
- N1 Oil Pump
- Nismo Strengthened Timing Belt
- Nismo 1.2mm Metal Head Gasket
- Nismo Oilpan Baffle Plate
- Fine Spec. Exclusive Rocker Cover Ornament
- Engine Plate (Nismo Logo, Engine Production Date)
- Front Final Gear Ratio (4.111 for R32 and R33 GTR, 3.545 for R34 GTR)
Overall in excellent condition for age, clearly loved by its previous owner and a very rare find even in Japan. Original GTR logo key. Non smoker’s car. Garaged. Airpod filters fitted.
Auction sheet noted that books, paperwork and a spare key and locknuts would be sent to the new owner following auction.
In addition to the 2009 Nismo Fine Spec engine, this R32 GTR had a Calsonic HID headlight upgrade. Auction sheet stated that the car was sent to the HKS Tech factory in January 2010; although details of that trip were not mentioned it is fairly likely that the NISMO engine was fitted at that time.
Other than that, the car was fairly original from apart from a few minor items in the engine bay including air pod filters. Suspension was questioned as possibly aftermarket.
The negative points on the auction sheet listed scuffs on the seats, steering wheel, trim scratches, seat sagging, wheel scratches, rust underneath, and small exterior scratches. However, these are typical auction disclaimer points particularly on special vehicles, to prevent any complaints following auction. The pictures show the real story, as these issues are all quite minor, and overstated in our opinion for a GTR of this age.
Our agent inspected the vehicle and provided the following notes:
Very nice car and original
Extremely clean and well cared for
Lower front lip spoiler has been painted white (usually black), has a few small scratches on the underside on the driver’s side
RH corner on the rear bumper has a couple of small scratches
Couple of small pin dents on the left side passenger door, hard to see unless you look closely
Set of nice aftermarket NISMO floor mats
NISMO shift knob
Steering wheel looks dull like it has been repainted
No cracks in dash
Very minor fading on top of seats but minimal for a GTR of this age
Non smoker’s car
Nice clean rooflining
Carpets have very little wear
Buttons and mirrors all working
No warning lights, HICAS light is fine
HID headlights, Calsonic upgrade kit fitted
All original in the boot and very clean and tidy.
Whether you’re looking to import a 1993 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R like this, or another year, make or model, we can find it for you in nice condition.
The pictures are typical of the information we provide prior to auction for each vehicle of interest, with any faults shown so you can clearly see the condition before we discuss whether to bid, and your budget.
It is vital when sourcing your vehicle to use an agent that takes the time to physically check each vehicle and looks beyond the auction pictures and report to confirm condition. Some vehicles may have an unpleasant smoke or other odour, rust underneath, or other faults which are impossible to know without inspection.

Hi Geoff,
I bought a 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 Gts-t through you in early 2007, I was happy with your service and the whole process involved with getting the car in from Japan.
I’m currently interested in a later model Nissan Stagea 2001 onwards. Could you please supply me with some details including approx landed costs and maybe add me to the auction trial for the Stagea.
Look forward to dealing with you again soon.
Richard
