On inspection we found the engine and transmission to be OK but the overall body condition was very poor – faded paint, damaged bodykit, dented and rusty to rear underbody, damaged and rusty to right rear quarter panel, rear stop lamp fallen out, badly worn interior and sun damage to the entire vehicle.
It presented as though it had been damaged in an accident, then left in outdoor storage and not used for some time before being sent to auction.
We did not believe the km to be genuine.
Despite the poor condition this vehicle still SOLD for 2.4 million Yen FOB, equivalent to approx. $40,500 complied, plus on road costs (@ 73.5 Yen to the dollar).
PRICE GUIDANCE – Supra prices have already been increasing rapidly for some years and as of 2020 they are virtually impossible to buy without a serious collector car budget as special models like aerotops and SZ and RZ 6 speeds have in some cases doubled in price in less than 12 months.
