This classic 1971 Nissan Skyline KGC10 coupe GT-X with GT-R look and badging was inspected for a client at USS Nagoya auction on 2 June 2016. It is the type of collector car we specialise in.
Inspection report:
Older restoration perhaps 10-15 years
Maybe painted 10 years or more ago at a guess
Looks ok from a distance (typical Japanese restoration and paint work)
When you get up close you can see where some parts haven’t been removed or masked up / overspray etc.
Couple of small runs underneath the paint here and there
Couple of spots around the windows where the paint has cracked
Several small spots of rust which are repairable
A little filler around the bottom of the doors and lower part of the windows but doesn’t look too serious
All rust looks fixable
One spot on the driver’s side a-pillar where the antenna is attached, has some crusty rust, not rusted through to the inside, fixable
Overall the body lines look good, no major waves anywhere
Bit of orange peel paint but not too bad
Period modifications, wheels, over fenders etc
Tri carbs, suspension, exhaust etc
Interior is quite nice, dash is in good shape
Original speaker venting has some small cracks
Everything else is nice inside
Steering wheel looks good, not original but a similar Datsun 3 rim style in black with original Prince logo in the centre
Two tone cloth and vinyl seats in black are nice condition looks like they’ve been redone
Power windows work
Door cards are original, chrome has started to peel off trims which is normal for age
Carpet has faded a bit, normal for age
Headlining could do with a clean
Grab handles from the roof are missing from the rear
Runs ok but needs a tune up as the engine backfires a bit every now and again, looks like the carbs need attention
Distributor cap looks good
Looks quite well maintained in the engine bay
Choke cable is broken at the handle end in the cabin, fixable

We only source the best vehicles with clean and tidy interiors, and only vehicles we would be pleased to own ourselves. This is why we are constantly told by clients that the vehicles we source are well above the condition of most others on the local market.
Whether you’re looking for a classic 1971 Nissan Skyline KGC10 coupe GT-X like this, or another year or model of Skyline or another car entirely we can find it for you in nice condition.
The pictures are typical of the information we provide prior to auction for each vehicle of interest, with any faults shown so you can clearly see the condition before we discuss whether to bid, and your budget.
It is vital when sourcing your vehicle to use an agent that takes the time to physically check each vehicle and looks beyond the auction pictures and report to confirm condition. Some vehicles may have an unpleasant smoke or other odour, rust underneath, or other faults which are impossible to know without inspection.

Don’t know if you remember me. I’m the guy that was *this* close to getting the 8 MR from you last year, then my dad got me a “surprise” Lancer VRX. Then I was gonna sell it 6 months ago for an 8 MR, and you convinced me not to….lol
Just wanted to see how things were going ?
I’ve gotten sick of my slolancer, and ordered a full Garrett Turbo kit from the US for it… lol
A bunch of guys at the workshops in Sydney were talking about you too, saying you do a great job on the Aus import scene. Showed me your business card, and I was like… yeah, I know Geoff! 🙂
