Nissan Note Aura Hybrid e-Power Import Information and SEVS import eligibility for Australia

The 2021+ Nissan Note Aura hybrid e-Power (FE13 / FSNE13) 5-door hatchback can be imported to Australia from Japan.

The Aura was released in Japan on 15 January 2021 and is an up-spec version of the Nissan Note with redesigned front and rear styling and a wider body. While it is based on the Note it is usually just called the Nissan Aura in Japan.

Related models are the 2016 to 2020 Nissan Note hybrid e-Power (HE12), 2020+ Nissan Note hybrid e-Power (E13, SNE13) 5-door hatchback, Nissan Serena e-Power people mover and 2020+ Nissan Kicks hybrid e-Power (P15) ‘subcompact crossover’ SUV.

Nissan’s e-Power system uses a 1.2L petrol engine to charge the battery which powers the electric motor/s. This is an extremely efficient hybrid system with exceptional fuel economy that sits between a full EV and normal hybrid system.

As in the Note, the 1.2L engine in the Aura produces 60 kW (82 PS) @ 6000 rpm and 103 Nm of torque @ 4800 rpm.

The front electric AC motor (EM47) produces 100kW (136 PS) at 3183 – 8500 rpm and 300 Nm of torque @ 0–3183 rpm.

In AWD models the rear electric AC motor (MM48) produces an additional 50 kW (68 PS) @ 4775–10,024 rpm and 100 Nm of torque @ 0–4775 rpm.

Aura e-Power fuel economy varies depending on the model and test method. Efficiency figures from Nissan spec data:

Aura G and G Leather 2WD: 25.9 to 29.6 km/L / 3.86 to 3.38 L/100 km (WLTC) and 33.0 km/L / 3.03 L/100 km (JC08)

Aura G and G Leather AWD: 21.8 to 24.9 km/L / 4.59 to 4.02 L/100 km (WLTC) and 27.0 km/L (JC08)

Aura NISMO 2WD: 22.4 to 25.3 km/L / 4.46 to 3.95 L/100 km (WLTC). Nissan Japan does not provide a JC08 test figure for the NISMO.

Safety features include autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring (BSM – able to detect and brake for obstacles), auto high-beam, 360 degree panoramic camera and rear-cross traffic alert (RCTA).

Aura boot space is extended with fold-flat rear seats and a concealed rear compartment.

We also ensure that any outstanding factory recalls are completed prior to export from Japan, which is essential before import to Australia / SEVS compliance. *Recall work is free in Japan and will be arranged at no extra charge before your vehicle goes to the Port, but please note there will be a small transport charge (generally $200 to $300) to send the vehicle to the nearest Nissan dealer.

Once your Aura hybrid has been exported from Japan all original paperwork and additional items such as spare keys and books are sent to you by EMS. This includes the Export Certificate (showing up to the last two re-registration inspection dates and odometer readings, depending on vehicle age) for your peace of mind.
