This factory produced 2013 Toyota Vellfire Welcab Sloper 2.4L wheelchair accessible vehicle was inspected for a client and sold at USS Nagoya auction in Japan on 20 February 2015.
It is known as a “sloper” due to the rear sloping ramp. As part of its operation, the vehicle lowers at the rear so the ramp can gently touch the ground allowing a wheelchair to be easily loaded and securely strapped into the rear. These have been cleverly designed by Toyota with a flat floor and other features to make them an ideal transport option for those with disabilities. Ramp operation is electrically operated from inside the vehicle or with remote control. They come with HID lights, push button start and intelligent key as well as various factory options.
This one had dual power sliding doors, and front and side cameras. Rear seats that fold down when ramp is not in use as well as a mechanical winch that comes out of the roof with electric control and tie down straps for the wheelchair. Had pneumatic suspension to lower the rear of the vehicle when ramp is in use. Factory HDD navi with TV and reversing camera. Factory lighting along the top of the roof on both sides. Factory alloy wheels.
Interior was graded A which is to be expected for a vehicle that had traveled only 6,000 kms. Just a little dirt on the driver’s floor mat. Right front bumper was scraped down to the black plastic but this was only a minor cosmetic detail. Otherwise the vehicle appeared new.
It sold for 3,060,000 YEN FOB. Total price in Australia at the time would have been approx. $44,700 complied plus tyres and ORC’s (calculated at a rate of 92.6 yen to the dollar).

Geoff was my knight in shining armour, my guardian angel and my saviour when it came to sourcing and purchasing my Toyota Welcab in Japan. I speak Japanese and lived in Japan for many years but I didn’t know the first thing about how to get a car to Australia!
Geoff generously, tirelessly and patiently shared his sage wisdom and advice, helping me navigate the auction process as well as giving me the tips and tricks to buy directly from a dealer then export, since I really had to see and try the car to be sure it would suit my needs. The service from Geoff’s service providers has also been second to none – the export agent, shipping/import agent and compliance shop have all been efficient, responsive and respectful. My 2021 Toyota Sienta Type III is arriving any day now and I can’t wait to try it out! Geoff, I just want to fly to Perth and give you a big, warm hug! 🙂 Thank you so, so much!
