1997 TOYOTA SUPRA JZA80 RZ-S 3L twin turbo
$36,700
1997 Supra RZ-S, 101,000 km. Looks good in the pics doesn't it ? Auction sheet however told a different story, and this is not a vehicle we would touch for SEVS import to Aust, for the following reasons. Left front side member was bent or damaged. Front right fender was cracked and needed to be repaired as well as cracks on the front bumper and rear bumpers. There were also a number of interior issues, including the rear trim missing in and around the rear hatch. The car had an aftermarket steering wheel, which had caused the airbag warning light to come on (or due to removal of the airbag following an accident). Also, they had removed the upper cover on the dash to insert more gauges. They had also mounted an aftermarket gauge pod to the left of the dash. Whether it was screwed on or stuck on was not indicated. Lastly some part or bezel from the factory dash was reported missing / removed. Aftermarket parts included aerokit, front fenders, bonnet, air cleaner, exhaust, Rays 18" alloys, steering wheel, and numerous gauges. This vehicle was sold at USS Nagoya on 26 August 2016 for 2,230,000 YEN FOB and is listed as an example of prices at that time for this condition of vehicle. This should be used as a guide as prices naturally vary over time depending on condition, kms, specification level, supply, demand, exchange rates and other factors. Total price in Australia would have been approx. $36,700 landed for race use (calculated at a rate of 76.5 yen to the dollar).
