Import an R32 GTR now or wait for the 25 Year Rule ?
This 1992 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR was inspected for a client at USS Tokyo auction on 16 June 2016 and sold for 1.345 million yen FOB, which at the time would have been approx. $24,800 complied in Australia, plus tyres and on road costs (at 78.5 Yen to the dollar).
June 1992 built (fine for import under SEVS) with 163,000 kms.
Auction sheet noted that the transmission had been upgraded with a quickshifter. The engine and gearbox were good on inspection so underneath the obvious cosmetic condition issues it appeared to be a decent and solid car mechanically. Clean underneath, no rust issues or damage.
Front bumper, left door and both side mirrors had scratches. The car had been painted at some time in the past, and not to the highest standard so a repaint would be required in time. Boot had rust under the spare tyre where water had got in and sat unnoticed, this is a common fault with R32 and R33 Skylines and requires simple work to seal the boot, rust removal, rust proofing and paint.
Seats were quite dirty and interior was worn and needed tidying up in a number of areas. Dash itself was OK, but obvious wear to handbrake and shift knob surrounds.
Aftermarket parts included DEFI water pressure and boost gauges, exhaust, airpods, wheels and audio system.
Basically this car needed some cleaning up and TLC.
Whether you’re looking to import a 1992 Nissan Skyline R32 GT-R like this, or another year, make or model, we can find it for you in nice condition.
The pictures are typical of the information we provide prior to auction for each vehicle of interest, with any faults shown so you can clearly see the condition before we discuss whether to bid, and your budget.
It is vital when sourcing your vehicle to use an agent that takes the time to physically check each vehicle and looks beyond the auction pictures and report to confirm condition. Some vehicles may have an unpleasant smoke or other odour, rust underneath, or other faults which are impossible to know without inspection.

I have used your services twice over the last 5 years.
You helped me import a HR31 GTSX COUPE from JAPAN which has won several awards for most original import.
You also helped me import a very rare Skyline HR31 GTS-R COUPE.
The price on these have risen a fair bit since I bought mine.
I even hear that JAPAN are actually buying back some of their rare original skylines as they want to keep their heritage.
Anyway, The Skyline HR31 GTS-R will remain in my garage for ever.
The white HR31 GTS-X coupe however I plan to sell to help fund a budget American Muscle car. I have had offers of $12,000 for it which is not too bad considering it cost me 8 grand or so.
I have done a lot of the usual internet searching and received a lot of conflicting shipping quotes from different car dealers in the States.
At the end of the day I keep coming back to you as you were fantastic during the import of my 2 skylines. I trust your knowledge and would happily use your services again to find me a muscle car.
